Advocacy
As an advocate, I’m committed to amplifying conversations around issues I’m passionate about—though these passions have evolved throughout my life. From advocating for women's rights, including reproductive freedoms, to standing as an ally for my LGBTQ+ friends, and championing mental health awareness and support for Canadian Armed Forces veterans, I’ve used my voice and my art to challenge societal ideologies and raise awareness about these important issues. My work reflects a lifelong dedication to creating societal change and challenging the biases that shape our world.
In addition to my personal advocacy, I’ve been an active participant in various charitable initiatives. For many years, I’ve contributed to the Brush of Hope fundraiser, donating paintings of celebrities—many of which I’ve had autographed—to raise funds for the Kidney Foundation.
In response to the tragic events of the Nova Scotia mass shooting in 2020, I launched the Nova Scotia Strong fundraiser, raising funds for the We Rise Again Fund by selling 1,000 signed prints and donating 100% of the proceeds to support the cause.
Advocacy and art have always been intertwined in my life, and I continue to use both as tools for change and healing.
